#953 – Ruby Sparks


Ruby Sparks is a smart film. It’s a sort of mongrel born from 500 Days Of Summer and Stranger Than Fiction, which makes for interesting viewing. Dano and Kazan are tight as the odd couple in the middle of the tale and support is seriously up to the task too.

This flick feels, in the most simple terms, like it’s addressing the cliche about people not changing, and confirming it’s true. And that’s a good thing when you begin to investigate it in a fantastical, horrific, puppet master type way…
