Killer Joe is good, firmly in the renaissance of Matthew McConaughey stable. However it is also totally and utterly fucked up. Which is kind of why it’s good, but let’s class it as not a date movie. Though if your girlfriend is a fan of a fried chicken leg, go ahead knock yourself out.
It’s 80s action with Arnie and James Belushi in a classic buddy cop format, Red Heat is awesome. I can see the pitch now, think lethal weapon except Murtaugh is a fuck off huge white guy from Russia. It’s genius. It also features Gina Gershon as the dancer girlfriend of a bad guy and a dude with a false leg!
